Willow was rescued from a feedlot in January 2013. Her guardian angel describes her in this way: Willow is available for adoption, with a contract (no breeding, first right of refusal, no slaughter), and a small fee, a portion of which will be donated back to Horses Home Again. She must go to an excellent home, and references will be required. Willow is a 5 yr old mare, standing about 14.3hh. She is UTD on vaccines, deworming, and farrier care. She is a very sweet, in your pocket type of girl, pretty and smart. Since her rescue, she has been handled a great deal. She is perfect for the vet and farrier, tacks up, longes. At the sale, I saw a video of her being ridden bareback, but I have not ridden her yet with tack. She loads in a trailer, respects fences, and in my "herd," gets along with everyone. She is not aggressive, but is also not a pushover. Willow has turned out to be a quick learner, and loves to be loved. She joins up easily with her person. I feel she is ready for the next chapter in her life, and a forever, loving home. I see her ideal home as one in which she would be used for pleasure/trail, some showing--with her color and attitude, I am confident she would capture the blues! I do not think she would be happy as a gaming horse. I am not interested in having her go from home to home. A longterm placement is what I am looking for--ideally with a young person working with a trainer so they can learn and grow together.
